About Our Practice
Colleyville Chiropractor Personal Story The following is Dr Tkachuk's personal story into chiropractic. Let me introduce myself, I am Dr. Colin Tkachuk and I love helping other people become healthier. Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story. Why donât we start with one of the reasons I became a Chiropractor. In 1994 I became an R.N. graduating with my bachelors of science in nursing and soon thereafter began working on a cardio-thoracic unit. After working on that unit for a couple of years I was promoted to charge nurse. I worked on this unit for six long years. One day I was in a patientâs room giving him his scheduled medication and discussing his care with his family when an overwhelming thought came over me. What was that thought you ask? Well the thought was, what was I doing? I was being a hypocrite in healthcare. What does that mean? Well I was living a life of prevention and health for myself which included good nutrition, exercise, and even regular visits to a chiropractor to keep my nervous system functioning properly but I was teaching and telling my patients other things. âHere take this pillâ, âDonât worry about your health we will take care of you next time you come inâ, âTry this new medicationâ We would see those patients over and over again and sicker and sicker each time. They werenât getting healthier because they were not doing some of the things that I was doing to make and keep me healthy. They were caught up in the system. That experience that day left a lasting impression on me. I knew then, I wanted to be a Chiropractor. I have been very fortunate during my career as a Chiropractor to have the opportunity to help so many people. Daily in my practice, we see patients with conditions like low back pain, sciatic pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, arthritis, sports injuries, shoulder and arm pain, children with colic and ear aches and even pregnant women, just to name a few. We also see many patients whom have been unable to find relief from their symptoms through traditional treatment methods. Several times a day patients thank me for helping them with their health problems. But I canât really take the credit. My confession is that Iâve never healed anyone from anything. What I do is perform specific spinal adjustments and treatments to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself. Itâs as simple as that. Being a chiropractor can be tough, because of the so-called experts out there. They tell people a lot of things that are plain ridiculous about my profession. But the studies speak for themselves, like the Virginia study that showed that over 90% of patients who saw a chiropractor were satisfied with their results. Thatâs just incredible! So, why have you not been to a Chiropractor? There is usually one response to that questionâ¦"I didnât know they could help me." My thought is thisâ¦Chiropractic care is the largest alternative health care profession in the world today. Research has proven its effectiveness as one of the safest forms of health care available. And it all takes place without drugs or invasive surgery. Chiropractic has changed my life and has helped many families in so many ways. I promise to provide you the highest quality of health care available at a very reasonable fee. My desire is this â to help more people experience the wonderful benefits of chiropractic care.
